Today’s Newsletter is titled after a conversation I had with a friend from college.
It’s been more than 4 years since I graduated UC Riverside and I have a hard time believing that sometimes. The text came from something he started doing to feel more in control of his day. It’s waking up everyday and running a mile even if that meant walking/jogging for the first few days.
I’ve noticed that self motivation is difficult to sustain, everyone says find your why but in an age or time where convenience is championed it’s no surprise we find ourselves wanting to be lazy in replacement of technology.
When interviewing founders of tech companies or social media entrepreneurs we’ve learned that there is something about their work that gives them that “reward” that people who like their jobs more than the money speak about. As podcasters, future authors, the joy tends to run out when you’re editing hour long episodes or writing difficult to explain concepts in chapters but the “reward” is the positive feedback listeners have messaged us. For instance, the last couple of guests we’ve interviewed approached us from PR agencies showing that we have a good brand people want to be a part of.
Remember, we all have the same 24 hours in a day and your future self, future customers, future plans depend on your effort.
